Make Sure Your Relationship with Your Managed Service Provider Still Benefits YouHarriette Halepis reminds us that a managed service provider, MSP, and your business are just like any relationship. Sometimes relationships stop working, and the only sensible solution is to find a way to end it. Your biggest concern will be knowing how to read the signs that signal the relationship is at an end.

Sign #1. You’re coming to terms with the fact that your service provider isn’t changing with your company. Your vendor doesn’t seem to be able to come up with solutions to help optimize costs along with user experiences.
Sign #2. Your vendor may not be capable of providing the information and support your company needs. You may find yourself in a position of reaching out with little, real help.

There may be an urge to try and work things out. Maybe your provider is capable of offering services they’ve dropped the ball on. If so, you’re in the right to demand that they comply with their original promises. After having tried this, you’re likely to know if it’s time to migrate to another service provider. Of course, you’ll need to consider if there will be mid-contract penalties by ending your contract abruptly. However, if you’re not satisfied with the service, switching providers may be your only option.
